Counseling

The mission of the Moreland School District Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to advocate for an environment that supports high achievement for all students and decreases barriers to learning, allowing students to become effective learners, responsible citizens, and productive members of a global workforce. In collaboration with other educators, families, and communities, this comprehensive school counseling program will maximize student potential and enable all students to experience educational success by providing preventative and responsive services in the areas of academic, career, and personal-social development to help students overcome challenges that interfere with learning and reach their fullest potential.

The vision of the Moreland School District Counseling Program is for all students to depart empowered with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve academic, personal/social, and career success, and to reach their fullest potential as respectful, responsible citizens.
School-Based Counseling Services
Moreland School District offers a variety of brief, short-term services for our students, families and staff. This can be anywhere from crisis management, small groups, providing students with education and skills in the classroom setting; to connecting families to appropriate outside services to best serve your child. Our goal is to collaborate with the caregivers and staff to ensure your child's ultimate success.

This is my 9th year at EDS & Moreland! I LOVE being a School Counselor because I get to be a safe space for kiddos and I get to help them become the best version of themselves.

This is my second year as a mental health clinician at EDS. My goal this year is to embrace the power of listening and building relationships, so that I can get to know our school community. While I am new to the district, I have experience as a school social worker in San Diego. I love my job because it gives me the opportunity to meet amazing families and students like yours! I cannot wait to meet you!

Hi, huskies! My name is Mrs. Helmers, and this is my first year with EDS! Before joining Moreland, I worked as a San Mateo-Foster City School District counselor. I'm excited to join this community and help our students overcome barriers to success. Let's have a great year!
