Mission Statement

The mission of the Moreland School District Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to advocate for an environment that supports high achievement for all students and decreases barriers to learning, allowing students to become effective learners, responsible citizens, and productive members of a global workforce. In collaboration with other educators, families, and communities, this comprehensive school counseling program will maximize student potential and enable all students to experience educational success by providing preventative and responsive services in the areas of academic, career, and personal-social development to help students overcome challenges that interfere with learning and reach their fullest potential.

Vision Statement

The vision of the Moreland School District Counseling Program is for all students to depart empowered with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve academic, personal/social, and career success, and to reach their fullest potential as respectful, responsible citizens.

Our comprehensive School Counseling program at EDS includes a variety of services for our K-8 students. These services include:

Group Counseling: This is where we will meet with about 2-6 students in a group setting for about 8-12 weeks for 30/min/week on a specific topic (i.e. Anxiety, Anger, Social/Friendship skills, Self-esteem, etc. See Group Description Form).
Individual Counseling: This is where we will meet with students individually for about 3-6 weeks for 30/min/week on any concerns teachers/parents have (i.e. study skills, coping skills, family issues, etc.)
Check-in: This is where we will check in with students either weekly, or every other week for about 10-15 minutes to see how they are doing, how their classes are going, etc.
Classroom Lessons: This is where the Counselor will come into the classroom and facilitate a skills-based classroom lesson based off grade-level needs.

*This is my 8th year at Easterbrook Discovery School/Moreland School District AND my 8th year as an official School Counselor. :)

*I LOVE working at Moreland because I am passionate about helping students become the best version of themselves that they can be! <3

*My favorite quote is:
"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."

I am the new mental health clinician at EDS. My goal this year is to embrace the power of listening and building relationships, so that I can get to know our school community. While I am new to EDS, I have experience as a school social worker in San Diego. I love my job because it gives me the opportunity to meet amazing families and students like yours! I cannot wait to meet you!
